Incomprehensible Numbers

When I see numbers like over 120,000 killed by the Asian tsunami, I find it impossible to grasp the sheer magnitude of the disaster. It's also impossible for the big media outlets to do the issue justice with their usual 30-second sound bites. That's where the world of blogging shines, with people in the middle of the destruction describing the scene for the rest of the world. The BBC has a nice story on the bloggers' efforts.

Update: There are several sources of home videos of the waves coming in and the aftermath.
